Preschool and early intervention classes in NSW government schools

This dataset provides a list of both government preschools and early intervention classes across NSW in 2017.

Data notes:

There are currently 100 government preschools across NSW, with 61 in the Sydney metropolitan area and another 39 preschools in regional and/or rural NSW.
Government preschool classes provide full-time or part-time schooling at pre-primary level. Children aged 3 to 6 years may be enrolled in a preschool program, although programs are typically delivered to 4 and 5 year olds, on the basis that they will be starting school the following year.
There are also 47 early intervention classes located in NSW public schools and operate during school terms. Children usually attend for 2.5 hour sessions, two to three days a week. Class sizes range from five to eight children and children are aged between three and six years.
