This dataset provides a list of both government preschools and early intervention classes across NSW in 2017. ** Data notes:** * There are currently 100 government preschools across NSW, with 61 in the Sydney metropolitan area and another 39 preschools in regional and/or rural NSW. * Government preschool classes provide full-time or part-time schooling at pre-primary level. Children aged 3 to 6 years may be enrolled in a preschool program, although programs are typically delivered to 4 and 5 year olds, on the basis that they will be starting school the following year. * There are also 47 early intervention classes located in NSW public schools and operate during school terms. Children usually attend for 2.5 hour sessions, two to three days a week. Class sizes range from five to eight children and children are aged between three and six years. **Data source:** * Early Learning and Primary Education. NSW Department of Education.
