Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding table (2016-2019)

The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) has been developed to ensure a fair, efficient and transparent allocation of the education budget for every school. The model, introduced in phases, recognises that students and school communities are not all the same they have different needs and require different levels of support.

Data Notes:

  • The 2018 preliminary RAM total funding includes the total 2018 funding for the four equity loadings and three components of the base school allocation (a total of seven components).

  • From 2019 the 3 year variance is no longer provided.

  • Variance in needs based allocation from year to year represent the change in total RAM funding compared to the total needs-based allocation of the previous year.

  • Changes in a school's funding are as a result of changes to student need and/or student enrolments.

  • The Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) is a school level index of educational disadvantage related to socioeconomic background. FOEI is constructed from parental education and occupation information collected from student enrolment forms. A FOEI of zero indicates a school population with high socio-economic advantage.

  • For more information on the RAM, visit Local Schools, Local Decisions.
